1. What cookies does matelso set and what is their lifetime?


mat_tel

(!) Is ALWAYS set

  • Saves the customer’s user ID in a cookie. This determines which telephone number(s) the customer is shown.
  • The cookie is set if the customer does not yet have a mat_tel cookie in the domain.
  • The user ID is a ‘GUID’ version 4.


mat_ep

(!) Is set if the Channel Selector is being used

  • Contains the customer’s initial entry point (entry point “location” and “referrer”).
  • This cookie is set if the customer visits the website.


mat_seg

(!) Is set if the Pool Selector is being used

  • Saves the latest Pool Selector value (Subdirectory/GET Parameters/...)


All values are unencrypted when saved in the cookie



What is the lifetime of the cookies set by matelso?


  • mat_tel
    • This is set for 712 days (2 years).
  • mat_ep
    • Can be set to values from 0 to 365 days in the Control Panel. Default value is 30 days
  • mat_seg
    • Can be set to values from 0 to 365 days in the Control Panel. Default value is 30 days


2. How can the cookies be blocked?

3. How does matelso handle DNT (do not track) requests from a customer?


matelso uses DNT configurations that users can activate in the browser. If a user sets the DNT header via their browser configuration, matelso does not collect any web data about the user.
